What It’s Like to Celebrate a New Card Launch With Cardless
With traditional issuers, it can take well over a year to bring a new credit card to market. Leveraging technology and our scalable model, Cardless is able to trim that lead time when it comes to actually launching the card.
Still, the entire team plays a role in preparing for each launch; there’s a lot to celebrate once we go live.
Recently, members of the team flew to Boston for a company-wide trip, following the recent launch of the Boston Celtics Credit Card.
We travel as a group often; offsites are a core component of the Cardless experience, and everyone at the company was invited to join.
It’s typically a mix of work and fun. In Boston, we stayed at a hotel just around the corner from TD Garden, which also served as our home base for the trip.
We take COVID-19 precautions very seriously. Everyone at Cardless is fully vaccinated, and since we wanted to be able to safely dine as a group, negative tests were also required. Many of our colleagues work from home, but regular testing is a component of the office experience as well.
After checking in and catching up in the lobby, we kicked off the event with a special dinner, with the Cardless team enjoying a steakhouse feast in our own private room.
The team got to check out the Celtics Credit Card and Cardless advertisements we placed all around Boston, too!
It was wild seeing the fruits of our labor in billboard form. Be sure to keep an eye out if you’re traveling through Boston.
The next day, we had a blast working on various projects in the hotel’s ballroom. One highlight was getting to chat with some of the first Celtics cardholders, who shared some of their favorite aspects of the program, suggestions for more fun memorabilia and experience redemptions, and more.
Soon enough, it was time for the main event! We walked across the street to TD Garden for the first Celtics home game of the season, against the Toronto Raptors.
Through our partnership with the team, we were able to score some incredible seats, including several which had our feet literally on the court. Cardholders can redeem their points for some exceptional vantage points, too — just open the Cardless app to see the amazing rewards and tap to make your selection.
We also gathered in a private suite, with delicious food, drinks and a great view of the game. Former Celtics player Leon Powe even stopped by to hang out with the team.
We had a fantastic time celebrating with the Celtics, but even more fulfilling was our experience engaging with new cardholders, several of whom spoke of their love of the team as their primary reason for adding the Celtics Card to their wallets.
In creating products that allow sports teams to better engage with their superfans, Cardless enables customers to feel even more connected to the brands they love. Stay tuned for much more to come, including some big launches beyond the arena!
